The idea of modest and boudoir seem to be a contradiction. You see women posing in revealing lingerie or nude and think, I could never do that! Here’s the thing – YOU DON’T HAVE TOO! And to spread the word I’ve put together this short article on modest boudoir photo shoot ideas. I’ll even share some modest boudoir outfits to help you plan your shoot. Boudoir isn’t about exposure, it is about what makes you feel beautiful and sexy. You should wear what you are comfortable in. That way you will get photos that are a true representation of your natural beauty and sensuality. So if you are bashful, a bit shy or self-conscious of your body, you can still experience the benefits of boudoir! And you can do it within your own boundaries because you are always in charge of the photo shoot. So let’s keep things classy and romantic and start looking at ways to keep your boudoir session modest, yet sensual.

Modest Boudoir Photo Shoot Ideas

If the eyes are the window to the soul, let’s share that in your photos. Instead of full body shots, let’s move in a bit closer to focus more on your beautiful face. Don’t worry, my in-house makeup artist will work with you to have you looking and feeling your best!

Here are a couple of examples of what I mean …

The first is a mirror shot, which adds an extra dimension to the scene. You can see some cleavage, but most of her skin is hidden. we used a crop and pose to hide her stomach in this shot. It is still very sensual, but also, very modest.

Modest Boudoir Photo Angle
In the second shot, using a downward angle you are able to focus on that beautiful face and her gorgeous eyes. Everything else is mostly obscured, creating another sensual but modest boudoir photo. You can also use surroundings to maintain your modesty. Below, in the first photo, we see a young lady standing by the bedroom door. She has on a bodysuit and is covering herself with the door and a white sheet wrapped around her waist area. If you are having the photo shoot to create a gift for your hubby, this modest photo will still speak to him!

modest boudoir? Yes it is!
In the second shot, a high back chair is used to hide everything but her legs arms and top. She could be nude back there, but she was wearing shorts and a tube top. This photo raises the heat, when it is totally innocent and modest for the client. In the next shot, we have another modest boudoir photo using a curtain to cover most of the client. Again, she is still sexy, but very modest in the execution of the photo.

And the second shot is from a Holiday Boudoir photo shoot. The flannel shirt keeps her covered, but the lighting, look and mood are boudoir sensual!

Hopefully these examples help you understand that you don’t have to pose in lingerie or naked to be sexy and sensual. Talk to your boudoir photographer in advance and let them know you want a modest boudoir shoot. He or she can then plan for poses that will help you stay comfortable.
