There are all types of lingerie styles for every body type. With so many choices, most clients wonder about the best lingerie options for boudoir photos.
If you are having trouble figuring out what you want to wear for a boudoir photoshoot, here are some suggestions to help.
Bra and Panty Sets
A more traditional option that offers plenty of possibilities for you to incorporate your own style. Bra and panty sets in muted or matte, pastel or primary colors work to bring out your natural glow.
Of course, you can’t go wrong with black. It is timeless and looks great on almost everyone. Or, take a 180 and go for white. White lace always photographs well and is used in most bridal boudoir photoshoots.
If your midsection is an area of concern, avoid low-rise panties and try a mid-rise instead. I strongly advise you to avoid granny panties and thongs. Granny panties are not the look you want in boudoir photos! And thongs, well, they don’t photograph well on everyone. If you want to try a thong, take a good look in the mirror and see if you like the look.
Corsets are one of the best known lingerie options. If you decide to wear a corset, you’ll want to do it later in your photoshoot. They tend to leave marks on the skin and if you plan on even implied nudity, you don’t need marks!
If you go with a corset, find one with a sweetheart neckline because it will accentuate your curves. Corsets with a straight bust area will flatten your chest, and for boudoir, you don’t want that.
Body Suits and Shapewear
If you are self conscious about your midsection, a sexy body suit may be the answer. This lingerie option will help show off your curves, while allowing the viewer’s mind to run wild with imagination.
Lace and Layers
Lingerie should never be boring. Go creative and try some adventurous sets. Intricately detailed pieces can really add to the look of your photos. Again, lace texture almost always looks great in a photo.
Like a fine dinner paired with wine, your lingerie looks should be paired with the proper accessories. The best part is, accessories aren’t that expensive. A pair of thigh highs and a garter belt can take your outfit to a whole new level. Going barefoot? Try some foot jewelry that adds some bling.
