Celebrities like Kylie Jenner, Madonna, and Heidi Klum have all had racy photoshoots. But racy photography is no longer only for the rich and famous! You may be surprised to learn some people you know have probably had this type of private photo session.

What are racy pictures?

The meaning of racy varies depending on your comfort level. There are racy pics you wouldn’t show your mom. Then there are racy photos you wouldn’t want anyone other than a lover to see.

Racy photos are usually nude and/or private pictures shared between you and your partner.

Other synonyms for racy include: risqué, bawdy, blue, lewd, spicy, suggestive, saucy, vivacious, playful, obscene and provocative.

Safety comes first …

If you are considering a racy photoshoot (also commonly known as boudoir) the first thing to think about is your safety. I recommend reading my article: Is Boudoir Safe? 10 Tips To Protect & Empower Yourself.

Quality is next …

You want to make sure you like the style of images the photographer takes. Chances are good your images will look similar to their displayed works.

Specialists are the way to go …

Some photographers are jacks of all trades. They shoot weddings, family portraits, business headshots, you name it, they’ll take pictures.

For boudoir images, I highly recommend you work with a boudoir photographer experienced in taking racy images. They understand the nerves involved with this type of shoot. The specialize in helping clients pose in ways that flatter their looks and body shape.

A boudoir photoshoot is as much if not more to do with the photo experience than the end product. An experienced boudoir photographer will make sure both exceed your expectations.
