Does the photographer have a legitimate business with a website? Do they have a history of consistent social media and blog posts? Do they have credible references on Google Business or other review websites? Do they have video testimonials?
Another thing to consider is do they specialize in boudoir? Or is it just one line of their photography offerings. Someone who specialize in a field is going to have a better understanding of what a client needs. It is more than taking pictures, it is helping a client overcome their inner dialogues and succeeding with her photoshoot.
3. Do they offer a free consultation?
Once you’ve determined a photographer may be right for you, reach out to schedule a consultation call. Most pros will offer this for free. If not, it is a warning sign to head in another direction. The free consultation isn’t a sales pitch. It allows the photographer to learn about what you want and answer questions you may have. No professional boudoir photographer wants to photograph a client that isn’t a good match. Their reputation depends on delivering a luxury experience and product. I would rather recommend another boudoir photographer than deliver a less than perfect experience for a client.4. Good vibes
After talking with the photographer, did you feel positive or have concerns? Was the conversation comfortable? Trust your gut at this point. If there are any red flags, move on to a different photographer. You will need to feel comfortable with the boudoir photographer you choose. Otherwise your photos will express you weren’t relaxed and enjoying the experience. These steps seem simple, but it is important to do your homework before hiring a photographer.
